Description

Alan was approached by a collector of Florida landscape paintings who commissioned him to paint this underwater seascape.  It is not a particular place in Florida, but is loosely based on the reef at the commercial pier in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Alan incorporated a collection of references he had SCUBA diving too.  His goal here was to show how different species of fish and crustaceans co-exist with one another. This painting is full of the many varieties of life you find in the Atlantic Ocean; the Spiny Lobster hiding in the crevasse of the reef, the Barracuda with his jagged teeth, the corals growing on the reef, the delicate fan coral in the front… there is an endless abundance of beauty and life wherever you look. Each print is signed and numbered and produced in limited editions of 250 prints. A Certificate of Authenticity is provided with all limited edition gicleés. Gallery wrapped canvas prints have the canvas wrapped around the stretcher frame and finished in a color coordinating with the print. The matted prints are open editions and do not have a Certificate of Authenticity.
