Alan Feldmesser

Alan Feldmesser is quickly becoming recognized as one of todays leading marine wildlife artists in the medium of oil paint. Combining his love for nature, marine life, scuba diving, underwater photography, and his unsurpassed technical ability to capture the details of our surroundings, has lead to a very unique style of realism within the marine wildlife art world. Alan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Painting from Syracuse University. While there, he studied under Jerome Witkin, who is recognized as one of the most formidable contemporary figurative painters in the world. After college he apprenticed with renowned portrait painter Ralph Wolfe Cowan for several years before opening his own studio. For 17 years he taught Painting and Drawing, first at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida and later at a prestigious private high school in Broward County, Florida where he developed their painting and drawing curriculum that is still implemented today. He offers a variety of fine art Gicleés that are signed and numbered limited editions of his work, apparel, and his original oil paintings on canvas. To help preserve the place he loves the most, the ocean, he donates a portion of the proceeds collected here at Under the Sea, LLC to various reef, fish, marine wildlife, and ocean conservation groups.

His artwork has been exhibited in various places, some of which include the Elmhurst Art Museum in Elmhurst, Illinois; the Palm Beach Gardens Florida Civic Center; The Artists Haven Gallery, now known as ArtBlend in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan; The Red Dot Miami during Art Basel Week where he exhibited with and is represented by, The Diego Victoria Fine Art Gallery.
