Florida has a time of year when licenses are sold and the number of bugs, or lobsters allowed to be caught per diver is restricted.  If you dive in South Florida out of Lobster Season, it seems that the lobsters know you cannot trap or catch them.  They take this opportunity to come out of their holes and taunt the divers. This lobster was no different. There he was, right out in the open, but it was not Lobster Season, so Alan couldn’t catch and eat him.  Instead of taking him home for dinner, he immortalized him in oil paint on canvas forever.
