This little guy was swimming in open waters with nothing but sand all around him. He looked lost in the big ocean.  With eyes only slightly larger than a grain of sand Alan felt he needed to create a safe environment on his canvas to gave this tiny fish some much needed cover. As juveniles, Drum Fish  have a large plume on their back, and as they age, the plume becomes smaller and smaller. Alan gave this guy a home amongst purple tube sponges; a great place to hide from predators.
